Golf Duo Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars

HOUSTON, Texas — Golfers Jake Benson and Harrison Hineline were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars, announced Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
 
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
 
Hineline led the Owls with a 74.62 stroke average while being the team's top finisher in five events. He recorded four rounds of par or better. He tied a career-low with a 66 in the first round of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, the best round by an Owl this year.
 
Benson averaged 76.00 strokes per round while leading the team with six rounds of par or better and four rounds in the 60's. The Nottingham, England natives best finish came at Bayou City Collegiate Classic, where he tied for 16th-place.
