2022: Finished 3-4 with a 4.93 ERA in 21 appearances (two starts) in his first year on the mound after 71 games at catcher in 2021 & 2022… 3-3 with a 4.35 ERA in his 19 relief outings (41.1, 39, 22, 20, 13, 35)… Made his pitching debut with a start vs. Louisiana on 2/18 (1.2,3,6,5,2,1) then bounced back to work a season-long 4.2 innings in relief at #2 Stanford one week later (4.2,4,0,0,0,3)… Earned his first career win with 2.2 scoreless innings in relief vs. Texas Tech on 3/3... Picked up his second win of the season by tossing 3.2 scoreless innings and striking out four at UAB... Third win came at at MTSU on 4/22 (2.1,0,0,0,0,2… Fanned a season-high five vs. DBU on 4/30… 3-3 with a 2.86 ERA in nine relief outings on the road (22, 19, 97, 4, 19)… Held lefthanded hitters to a .218 batting average (12x55).

2022: Opened the year by starting 30 of the first 35 at catcher and then made nine starts at third in the final 16 games of the year… Threw out 10 base runners to tie for ninth in C-USA… Opened the year with a season-best, four-game hitting streak, going 3x8 in the opening series at Texas and 1x3 vs. HBU… Scored three runs vs. SFA on 3/15 to match his career high… Drove in two runs with a sacrifice fly vs. Sam Houston the following night as the Bearkats centerfielder made a diving stop of his liner in the gap, but could not make the throw in time to stop the second runner from scoring… Collected a pair of hits in seven games, including back-to-back efforts at LA Tech on 4/9 &10… Second on the team with 29 walks.


2021: Stepped in as the starting catcher as a true freshman, making 37 starts behind the plate… Threw out 22 of 36 runners attempting to steal, the most by a Rice catcher since Geoff Perrott threw out 28 in 2013… Second on the team with a .395 on-base percentage and tied for second on the team with 21 walks… Let the team with a .407 OBP in conference action… Hit .333 over his final 11 games (9x27), highlighted by a 3x3 day against Charlotte that also included his first home run and two RBI… Also collected a pair of hits in his two pinch-hit at-bats.

Prior to Rice- Three-year baseball letterman and two-year team captain at Kingwood High School... Batted .380 and saw time on the mound, recording three saves in the pre-district action during the abbreviated 2020 season... Earned first-team All-District 22-6A and was named the Defensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2019... Batted .378 for the season and .483 in district play... Led the Mustangs to a second-straight district title and the 6A Region 3 final, batting .414 during the 2019 playoff run... Selected as Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association Underclass All-Star... Helped Kingwood win District 22-6A and reach the state's Regional Quarterfinals as a sophomore in 2018.
